When I get home
The house it better be
Cleaner than when I
Left it messy

Oh, wishin
Oh, wishin! that’s me!

When I leave work
The traffic better be
Light and easy
Dare I say friendly

Oh wishin
Oh wishin, that’s me!

When I fold clothes
My socks they better be
All in pairs
And no sock left lonely

Oh, wishin
Oh, wishin! that’s me!

Dum Little Rum Dums

Thanks for tuning in to Tuesday Tunesday. I began this weekly song series just last week. The objective is to share recorded ideas, scraps, or demos, or whatever I feel like, gosh. Unpolished. Raw. You’ll probably hear a lot of one-shot single-track recordings, like today’s tune, which was recorded onto my iphone memos app last year.

Dum little rum dums suckin on their thumbs
Plucking their guitar strings banging on their drums
Dum little rum dums they do what they can
Throwing it together and they hope you understand
Hey that hurts! But you knowz I gots it worst!
I said I said a prayer (but I really said a curse)

Dum little rum dums take you for a ride
They would tell the truth but they already lied
Dum little rum dums dig themselves a hole
They climb on in where they think they have control
Hey wasn’t me! I’m as innocent can be!
And  I don’t got no time for responsibility!

Dum little rum dums they bump and thump about
They either like to whisper or they like to shout
Dum little rum dums they like to pick their nose
They like to put their boogers on someone else’s clothes
Hey not me! My hands are always clean
Cuz I’m chaste as a nun and noble as a queen

Dum little rum dums all in a row
Who is a stranger and who do you know?
Dum little rum dums can’t tell them apart
Can’t tell where they end and tell where they start
Hey not me! I’m individual you see!
I’m plain and I’m simple originality

Dum little rum dums they love to get applause
For doing almost nothing, no need to be a cause
Dum little dum dums they always asking why
Why me oh lord why must I even try?
Hey who cares yeah hey so what?
I like to get my work done sitting on my butt

Dum little dum dums they spend and they save
They like to be naughty and they like to behave
Dum little rum dums can’t make up their minds
They flip and they flop more than half of the times
Hey not me, my integrity is sound
I’ll never change my mind no matter what has been found

Dum little rum dums how dum are you?
We’re all dum together sitting in a zoo
Dum little rum dums whose turn is next
Who’s being holy and who’s being hexed?
Hey just wait! I’m the keeper of my fate!
But I’ll turn into a pumpkin if I stay up too late

Dum little rum dums they like to read the news
They like to read the headlines they like to pick and choose
Dum little rum dums they like to read the books
They care about their brains but care more about their looks
Hey not me, I’m a spiritual being
And what I really am is just not quite what you are seeing

Don't Count Me Out

Here is a song
Written and recorded about one year ago
Into my iphone voice memos
I just now wrote out the lyrics
Onto some photos I took of the pier
on a foggy evening
The recording has some mistakes
Which you will hear
But I think it’s a good recording
It’s good enough

You can read the lyrics while listening on your desktop
But for some reason the audio player won’t let you see the photos below while you are listening on some phones.
